­­­­             The  GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FEDERATION, A&N Islands is going to conduct its 31st Annual Conference on 26.10.2013 at 9 am at Marine Recreation Hall, Mohanpura, Port Blair. On the eve of Conference, GEF had conducted Essay writing, Speech Competition at School and College level in two languages viz Hindi and English on 05.10.2013 at Govt. Model Senior Sec. School Auditorium . The winners and all the participants of Chess Competition, Essay writing  and Speech Competition will get their prices and  participation  certificates in the said Conference. All the participants are requested to attend the Conference along with their family and friends positively. Further, the GEF requested all the Government Servants to attend the Conference.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Recruitment to Group 'C' posts in Pay Band-I, with Grade Pay of Rs.1800/- (pre-revised Group `D' posts). 

This Department vide OM of even number dated 12.5.2010 requested all the Ministries/ Departments to intimate their requirements for Non-Technical Group 'C' posts in PB-1 Grade Pay Rs.1800/- to the SSC immediately in order that the Commission could initiate action for recruitment. The Ministries/Departments were also advised to take action simultaneously for framing Recruitment Rules for these posts in accordance with the Model RRs already circulated vide OM dated 30.4.2010.

2. It has, however, come to the notice that Cadre Controlling Authorities are not sending their requisitions for the vacancies of MTS to SSC. The erstwhile Group 'D' posts which now belong to Group 'C' are required to be filled up through SSC as per instructions of this Department instead of through Employment Exchange or any other mode. All Ministries/ Departments are, therefore, once again requested for sending their requirements in respect of Ministries/Departments themselves as well as their attached/ subordinate officers also, for Non-Technical Group 'C' posts in PB-1 Grade Pay Rs.1800/- to the SSC immediately in order that the Commission could initiate action for recruitment.

3. Action pending if any, may simultaneously be taken for framing Recruitment Rules for these posts in accordance with the Model RRs already circulated.

GEF Conducted Inter School and Inter College Essay and Speach competition

           The  GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FEDERATION, A&N Islands  has conducted Inter School and Inter College Essay and Speach competition at Model Senior Secondary School’s Hall, Port Blair on 05.10.2013 at 10.00 a.m. on the eve of their  31^st Annual Conference going to held on 26.10.2013 at 9.30 Hrs at Marine Recreation Hall, Mohanpura, Port Blair.  Dr. N.Rajavel, HOD (Commerce), JNRM College was the Chief Guest and Chief Judge on the Occasion. Altogether  73  students have participated in the competition. The competition was conducted in two languages viz. Hindi and English. The topic for Essay and Speech Competition for Inter-School was “Role of Union, Association and Federation in the Society” and Inter-College was “Importance of  Union, Association and Federation in the present Scinario”.  Shri. S.K.Majumdar, General Secretary, GEF and Shri. E.V.Rao, Instructor, ITI were other two  judges on the Occasion.  Shri. P.Kannan, President and the Vice Presidents of GEF Shri. H.A.Siddiqe, Shri. N.Venkatratnam, Shri. Shyam Karan were also present on the occasion.  The result of Speech competition  was declared on the spot whereas, the result of Essay competition was reserved on the day of  Conference. The prizes  for the winners of  competition shall be given in the Conference of  GEF.  The details of  winners of  Speech Competition are given below :-

       The Chief Guest and Chief Judge Dr. N.Rajavel has declared the result of speech competition  and congratulatd  all the winners. He has said that, all the children  have done well and told them to keep up the sprit of  participation and  also motivate their friends too to participate in such type of competition to improve their knowledge and activities. 

    Shri.P.Kannan, President GEF addressed the students and explained in detail about the role and importance  of Union, Association and Federation in the Society in present scenario. He  has also said that, the students are playing a vital role in the modern Society and nation building,  So, they should lead the youths in right direction to build a strong and  bright India.

    Shri. S.K.Majumdar, General Secretary, GEF has explained the functioning of Government Employees Federation in A&N Islands and delivered vote of thanks to Chief Guest, Students participated in the competition, their treachers  and Principals, specially the Principal, Govt. Model Senior Secondary School for providing Hall and other facilities and the office bearers of GEF and others who have extended their support for making the competition a grand success.  

GEF request for defer of North Andaman tour on 17.10.2013

Subject :- Request for defer of  North Andaman tour on 17.10.2013 - reg.

Your Excellancy,

                              The Muslim Government servants posted at North Andaman have put forward a demand that, they are not being given leave to celebrate  Idul-Zuha (Bakrid) with their family at Port Blair,  because of your Excellency’s visit to North Andman on 17.10.2013.  Due to which,  there is lot of frustration  among  them. The Bakri-Eid  falls on 16.10.2013 and it would not be possible for them to be present  on duty on 17.10.2013. That’s why they are not granted leave.

            Therefore, we  shall be highly  grateful to your Excellancy, if you could postpone the date of your Excellancy’s visit to North Andaman on 17.10.2013. And if,  it is not possible,  an instruction may be issued to grant leave to Muslim Government servants posted at North Andaman.

            The workers of APWD drawing their Salary and Wages on 7^th of every month have demanded that, their Salary and Wages for the month of October, 2013 may be disbursed before 03.11.2013 to celebrate Diwali festival on 03.11.2013.

            The APWD WORK ASSISTANT ASSOCIATION has also placed the same demand to your goodself vide their letter No. WAA/2013/05 dated 03.09.2013.

            Therefore we request your goodself to kindly take necessary action for disbursement of Salary / Wages of  APWD workers for the month October, 2013 before 03.11.2013 on the eve of Diwali Festival. A copy of the Association letter is enclosed herewith for necessary action.
