Concessions granted to Railway Passengers

CONCESSIONS GRANTED TO RAILWAY PASSENGERS – LIST OF MAJOR CONCESSIONS GRANTED TO DIFFERENT CATEGORIES OF PERSONS BY INDIAN RAILWAYS

The details of major concessions granted to different categories of persons on Indian Railways along with class and element of concession is given below:

GEF Conducted 31st Annual Conference 

           The  GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FEDERATION, A&N Islands  has conducted  its 31st Annual Conference on 26.10.2013 at Marine Recreation Hall, Mohanpura, Port Blair. Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Patron of  GEF was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri. S.K.Majumdar, General Secretary of GEF has welcomed the Chief Guest,  other distinguished guests, Govt. servants, School students  & Teachers, media persons,  President & office bearers of GEF, members of all affiliated associations and  read out the Administrative Report and narrated the activities undertaken by the Federation including social activities such as conducting  Open Chess Competition, Essay and Speech competition etc. for School and College students. He has placed the list of Achievements,  demands under consideration, Appeal of GEF in the Conference  and took a resolution to place it before  appropriate authorities  for early redressal. He  has also coordinated the whole programme.
             Shri. P.KANNAN, President of GEF addressed the house and briefed / praised the   achievements made by  Federation and said GEF has been doing remarkable achievements for the benefit of government servants and Islanders for more than three decades and fulfilled the most wanted benefit of “ISDA”,  Permission  /  LTC refund  on Private Airlines etc..   He has said that, the Federation do not demand money  and  is  committed to do social service  selflessly and resolved many public issues too,  in which establishment of  RTO (Regional Transport Office) is one of the biggest achievement.  He has said that, any Govt. servants can approach GEF any time in its office for the genuine grievances without any expense.  He has lauded in the matter of  regularization of services of  DRMs/ Casual Workers/ Contract Workers,   2 years LTC for local recruits availing  4 year block for visiting mainland, 2nd  Class Cabin entitlement for employees drawing Grade  Pay of  Rs. 1800/- and  students studying in mainland, posting of Staff Nurses  in Schools and Government Departments with First Aid Facilities, Filling up all vacant  posts  etc..
             The  Chief Guest Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma  has  hosted the flag of GEF and distributed  the prizes   and Rolling Trophy to the  winners of   Open Chess Competition,  distributed prizes to winners of  Essay and Speech competition conducted among  College / School  students at  Senior and Junior level. The Chief Guest released the “Souvenir” of GEF and  distributed Association’s Identity Cards to the Office Bearers of  “Andaman & Nicobar  Group “C” Employees Association.  While, addressing the gathering, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has congratulated the students of prize winners  and motivated their participation. He  has  appreciated the President, General Secretary,  office bearers  and members of  affiliated Association of  Govt. Employees Federation for conducting  the 31st Annual Conference, conducting  competitions and doing commendable jobs  for the benefit of  Govt. servants and  Islanders and also requested them to keep up the same sprit.  He has said that, though the  Federation is doing many Commendable  jobs selflessly ,  but  not giving adequate publicity which is equally important for  awareness and shall be  helpful for poor and needy Govt. Servants and Islanders. Because,  no other organization is doing social work without monetary benefit like  GEF  doing  in A&N Islands. He has blessed and requested all the members to be unite and strengthen Federation and its activities.
        Shri. N.A.Rasheed, Executive Member of  GEF has given vote of thanks to Chief Guest Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma,  other distinguished guests, Mrs, Jameela Bibi Councilor- PBMC,  Shri. The  GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES FEDERATION, A&N Islands is going to conduct its 31st Annual Conference on 26.10.2013 at 9 am at Marine Recreation Hall, Mohanpura, Port Blair. On the eve of Conference, GEF had conducted Essay writing, Speech Competition at School and College level in two languages viz Hindi and English on 05.10.2013 at Govt. Model Senior Sec. School Auditorium . The result of Speech competition was declared on the spot and the result of Essay competition is given under:-

The winners and all the participants of Chess Competition, Essay writing  and Speech Competition will get their prices and  participation  certificates in the said Conference. All the participants are requested to attend the Conference along with their family and friends positively. Further, the GEF requested all the Government Servants to attend the Conference.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Recruitment to Group 'C' posts in Pay Band-I, with Grade Pay of Rs.1800/- (pre-revised Group `D' posts). 

This Department vide OM of even number dated 12.5.2010 requested all the Ministries/ Departments to intimate their requirements for Non-Technical Group 'C' posts in PB-1 Grade Pay Rs.1800/- to the SSC immediately in order that the Commission could initiate action for recruitment. The Ministries/Departments were also advised to take action simultaneously for framing Recruitment Rules for these posts in accordance with the Model RRs already circulated vide OM dated 30.4.2010.

2. It has, however, come to the notice that Cadre Controlling Authorities are not sending their requisitions for the vacancies of MTS to SSC. The erstwhile Group 'D' posts which now belong to Group 'C' are required to be filled up through SSC as per instructions of this Department instead of through Employment Exchange or any other mode. All Ministries/ Departments are, therefore, once again requested for sending their requirements in respect of Ministries/Departments themselves as well as their attached/ subordinate officers also, for Non-Technical Group 'C' posts in PB-1 Grade Pay Rs.1800/- to the SSC immediately in order that the Commission could initiate action for recruitment.

3. Action pending if any, may simultaneously be taken for framing Recruitment Rules for these posts in accordance with the Model RRs already circulated.
